Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) made a emergency landing at Karachi Jinnah International Airport on 19th of August, 2020, PIA aircraft’s malfunctioned of hydraulic system.
According to PIA’s spokesmen; All passengers and crew were safely landed and we established all possible facilities for them at the Airport.
Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower was apprised by the Pilot about forced landing because of technical issue in the Aircraft. Flight PK-218 from Abu Dhabi bound to Peshawar abstracted to Jinnah International Airport Karachi due to Aircraft’ malfunctioning of its hydraulic system.
Talking about 22nd May, 2020 when the Airbus A-320 was crashed in Model Colony which was a well populated residential Area of Karachi. The flight crashed after twice or more failure in forced landing. There were 91 passengers and 8 crew members on-board in the Aircraft and 97 died as reported. Somehow 2 passengers managed to survive the crash.
It was announced in National Assembly by Federal Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar “discussion between Pilots led to the flight crash, they were busy telling each other about their family members who were affected by the Corona Virus. This conversation was going on from approximately half an hour before the crash happened. Their lack of concentration caused the incident. And the plane was 100% fit” Minister added.
History of PIA Emergency Landing
28th July 2010: Islamabad bounded Airblue Flight ED-202 was crashed in Margalla Hills. All passengers were killed also the flight crew.
20th April 2020: Bhoja Air Flight-213 From Karachi to Islamabad and it was the airline’s first evening flight in-a-while. 12 years earlier they closed down amidst financial difficulties in the year 2000, but restarted operations in March 2012. There was 121 passengers and 6 crew on board. All killed by the crash of aircraft.
7th December 2016: Traveling from the city of Chitral to Islamabad Pakistan International Airline (PIA) Flight PK-661 crashed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Plane carrying 48 people and burst of flames killed everyone on board.
19th July 2019: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) skipped accident after skidded off the runway while landing at Gilgit airport. “ATR-42 aircraft slid off to the unpaved (area) to a minor extent during landing. The flight PK-605 was carrying 53 people, including crew members, from Islamabad to Gilgit, according to the Gilgit deputy commissioner.”
